Newborn Photography in Meath

Newborn Photography in Meath

Natural, heartfelt moments — captured forever.

Welcome to your newborn session

Those first few weeks with your baby go by in a blur of tiny fingers, sleepy cuddles, and love you can hardly put into words. My newborn photography sessions in Meath are all about slowing that down — capturing your story in a calm, natural way so you can remember every little detail.

I’m Melinda, a lifestyle family and newborn photographer based in Cavan, serving Meath, Longford, and surrounding counties. My approach is relaxed, baby-led, and focused on authentic connection. No stiff poses, no studio pressure — just genuine moments between you and your newborn, photographed beautifully in the comfort of your own home or a favourite local spot.

What to expect during your newborn session - family and baby portraits in Meath

Each newborn session is designed around your family’s rhythm. I’ll arrive with everything we need and spend time getting to know you and your baby before I even lift my camera. Whether your little one needs a feed, a cuddle, or a nap — we go at their pace.

Sessions usually last around two hours, giving plenty of time for feeding breaks and outfit changes. My goal is to create images that feel like you — filled with light, warmth, and love.

You can expect:

  • A calm, baby-first environment

  • Lifestyle images that tell your family’s story

  • Guidance on natural posing (no stiff directions!)

  • A curated online gallery of professionally edited photographs

  • Optional wall art and fine-art albums available for order

Why choose a lifestyle newborn photographer in Meath

There’s something so special about photographing a newborn in their own home — the nursery you lovingly prepared, the armchair you rock them to sleep in, the way your family dog quietly sits nearby. These are the memories you’ll want to look back on, not just perfectly posed portraits.

Choosing a local newborn photographer in Meath also means I know the area well — from the quiet lanes around Navan to peaceful spots near Kells or Trim. For families who prefer outdoor sessions, I can suggest beautiful natural settings that work wonderfully for family portraits once your baby is a little older.

Preparing for your session - lifestyle newborn photoshoot at home

Once your booking is confirmed, I’ll send you a simple session guide with advice on:

  • What to wear (soft, neutral tones photograph best)

  • How to prepare your home for a light-filled session

  • What to expect on the day

There’s no need to deep clean or worry about perfection — babies are beautifully unpredictable, and that’s what makes each session unique. My aim is to help you feel comfortable, supported, and present.

When to book your newborn photoshoot - baby photography Meath Ireland

The best time for a newborn photography session is within the first 2–3 weeks after birth, when babies are still sleepy and happy to be curled up. That said, I also photograph slightly older babies (up to 8 weeks) in a more awake, expressive style — so it’s never too late to capture your baby’s story.

Because I only take a limited number of newborn sessions each month, early booking is recommended — ideally during your second or third trimester.

A few kind words

“Melinda made us feel so relaxed during our session. She captured the sweetest details of our little one — the yawns, the tiny fingers, the snuggles. We’ll treasure these forever.”
Clare & Patrick, Navan, Co. Meath
