Your photos this Spring and Summer - The best time and place for your family photos in Ireland.

So you’ve been thinking you need to update your family photos but not sure when… or your travelling to Ireland for your family vacation Im here to help you .. or overwhelm you with options!!

Here’s some of my fave seasonal times..

Lets start with Daffodil season - if you want to say HELLO YELLOW this is for you.. whether wild or in your garden or your local forrest or hotel lets do it!

ALL THE BLUEBELLS

Bluebells bloom the first 2 or 3 weeks in May - I’ve the perfect location in Virginia Deer Park forrest and the lake house near by is perfect too or let me know your secret fave spot for any of the spring flower blooms too! I’m a very mindful not to crush the flowers so they’re there for everyone to enjoy!

CHERRY BLOSSOMS

An absolute fave of mine and Im sure yours too its like nature confetti!! They are usually blooming for the last 3 weeks April. If you’ve a good ol’ one near where you are please tell me - I’d love to come see it and take your photos there! Also bonus if you’re having your family celebration these week at the Kilmore Hotel, County Cavan there’s a GORGEOUS massive cherry blossom tree out the front!

But its not ALL about the spring flowers…

Killykeen Forest..

Some locations closer to me… Killykeen Forest near Killashandra and just outside Cavan .. I love, love, love this place it’s a kids haven and I promise they’ll be tired after running up and down the hills.. plus gorgeous tracks lined with snow drops to wild garlic and of course blue bells too choose your favourite spring blooms to be surrounded by! We can wander to the top of the bike track for amazing photos overlooking the lake… And finish it off with a laze by the river. There’s usually a coffee caravan onsite to get a few treats too

Lough Crew Gardens is a beautiful place just outside Oldcastle in County Meath with a gorgeous flower filled garden, maze, a hill to climb, bridges to cross an old church to explore and a fairy forrest to explore with the family too. There’s a small entrance fee but it’s totally worth it and you can grab a cuppa after at the onsite Cafe! Loughcrew Megalithic is near by too which is a gorgeous hill to climb and adventure with your family and perfect for family photos!

Im a BIG FAN of…

Lough Ramor, its the lake at the bottom of Deer Park Forrest and edges the Virginia Golf Coarse and all really cool nooks so many options here which gives you SO much variety in your gallery.

Fore Abbey…

Fore, Westmeath 10 mins outside Oldcastle and is a magical place surrounded by rolling hills and ruins to explore.. I love the wildness it allows in kids they can get their crazy out.. later in summer the outskirts of the grounds have wildflowers including bright red poppies popping up everywhere - I love wandering here so many sweet spots for family photos and opportunities to get lots of variety and those really natural photos of your kids you will love, the real photos, natural photos, that look like them.. they’ll mean even more to you in years to come!

Crover and the shore of Lough Sheelin..

..need I say more with the lake, green hills and gorgeous seasonal trees.. so many nooks for photos!

Show me your fave summer lake - A nice splash, skimming stones and having a picnic. I’m all for the bare feet in the water and on the grass too!

BEACH DAYS

The beach feels like home to me -it’s in my Aussie blood! So, I’d love to join you on a beach day building castles and jumping the waves - yes please! From East coast beaches like Killiney Beach or Carlingford inlet or over to the West and sunsets over Tullan Strand, Bundoran and Rossnowlagh and beyond tell me about your dream family beach day.

LETS ALL GO TO

GRANNY’S HOUSE..

And a little closer to home, let’s not forget Granny’s garden - is your granny(or grandad) a green thumb? She’s always going to have the goods in her garden.. plus what better memories to take photos of.. even get the grandparents in for a few 🧡 (check out my blog on the kids in granny’s garden HERE).

Those summer nights….

Field + Hay bale + Sunset = bloody lovely photos.

I’ve also got some other secret locations dotted around Cavan and Meath and Westmeath that I’d love to shoot at and as always your home is the most special place to your family however humble it’s filled to the brim with memories so why not let it be the backdrop to your photos.

I’ll walk you through everything from location, outfits and tips to get the most out of your photos too.. getting the ball rolling is the biggest step!

I really hope this has given you loads of ideas and even got you a little excited about getting your family photos this year. Please get in touch soon (click that little button just above) to save your date… and if you want to know a little more about what happens next read here.

Cant wait to hear from you and plan your photo session..
